Month One Project 365 Favorites

>> Thursday, September 30, 2010

Today Maegan over at Madeline Bea is having a “check-in” link for all of our 365 projects. Instead of just linking up a bunch of new photos since I haven’t edited hardly anything this week I am going to post a few of my absolute favorite 365 Shots so far. Right now, I am on Day 36, but you’ll have to come back tomorrow to see this weeks shots!

I don’t really have anything to post today…

Nothing that I have shot recently fits with any of today’s photo challenge themes.

So…instead, I’m just going to leave you with one of my favorite photos from recently.

Enjoy.

Black & White Portrait Challenge

>> Saturday, September 25, 2010

Hannah over at Aspire is hosting a Black & White Portrait Challenge at her blog this week! I love Black and White portraiture. Something about the lack of saturation really makes a photo stand out. It conveys emotion and feeling better than anything in color could. I was somewhat stumped when I saw this because I knew I wanted to play along, but I wasn’t sure what photo I would use. I have a few from sessions that I’ve done that were ok, but when it comes to black and white, there is one photo of Little Man that is by far my favorite. To me, his expression conveys that of fascination and discovery…as if he was seeing something new for the first time and was in wonder of what he was watching.

Make sure you head to Aspire to check on more Black & White Portraits! Have a great Saturday!

Project 365: Days 16-30

I have been so behind on editing the past 2 weeks or so. One thing happened after another and my editing fell to the wayside. I’ve still be shooting everyday, just not always getting the edits done at night like I had been. Now that I have picked back up with my blogging and I have got some new commits heading my way, I’m having to take a step back, reprioritize and do what I can when I can. But no worries, like I said, I’m still shooting EVERY day. Here are my favorite 365 Photos from the past 2 weeks or so:

Macro Friday and Lovely Bokeh

>> Thursday, September 23, 2010

I took several shots of these cute little red flowers this past week [or was it last week?] for my Project 365. I used one photo for yesterdays’ Before and After, but I have another today for Macro Friday with Laura. I was unbelievably surprised with how this turned out. Even SOOC. Of course, me being the junkie that I am, I had to add some fun textures and I’m really pleased with the outcome. I shot this using my Canon Rebel Xsi and my 18-55 Kit Lens.

And this week I’m joining in for Shoot and Tell with Natalie. This weeks theme is bokeh, so I went digging through the archives for one of my favorite bokeh photos. I took this in a Garden at a shoot I did back in May.This was before I learned how to use textures, so the only editing that’s been done to this [beside the watermark] is a slight bump in color.

Before & After

>> Wednesday, September 22, 2010

I had a nice fun before and after photo of Candy Corn that I was going to post today in honor of the beginning of Fall. Then I started working on some of my waaaay behind schedule Project 365 edits and found one [okay, about five] that I liked better. So..here I am, changing my mind at nearly 10:30 on Wednesday night because I am indecisive. And truth be known, if I don’t hit PUBLISH when I’m done and close my computer for the night, I’m bound to change my mind again. So without further ado:

Day24-28 043

Day 25-1
I was really excited about how this one turned out. I used new textures that I found from the uh-mazing Kim Klaussen. And I used the Pioneer Woman Actions that I am so very, very fond of. I shot this using my Canon Rebel Xsi and I actually shot it with my 18-55 kit lens. I haven’t been using this lens much, but after seeing how some of these photos turned out…I am PRETTY sure that I just changed my mind. Head over to Monica’s to play along. I’m also entering this in the You Capture Theme: Flowers! 4439779044_27e3214dc0_o
