Month One Project 365 Favorites

>> Thursday, September 30, 2010

Today Maegan over at Madeline Bea is having a “check-in” link for all of our 365 projects. Instead of just linking up a bunch of new photos since I haven’t edited hardly anything this week I am going to post a few of my absolute favorite 365 Shots so far. Right now, I am on Day 36, but you’ll have to come back tomorrow to see this weeks shots!

Project 365: Days 16-30

>> Saturday, September 25, 2010

I have been so behind on editing the past 2 weeks or so. One thing happened after another and my editing fell to the wayside. I’ve still be shooting everyday, just not always getting the edits done at night like I had been. Now that I have picked back up with my blogging and I have got some new commits heading my way, I’m having to take a step back, reprioritize and do what I can when I can. But no worries, like I said, I’m still shooting EVERY day. Here are my favorite 365 Photos from the past 2 weeks or so:

I’m being FORCED to find new things to photograph. Even when I find myself at a loss, I conjure up something that I can make beautiful.

Project 365: Days 3-9

>> Saturday, September 4, 2010

I can already tell that this project is going to push me and challenge me like I never dreamed. But I am really excited and eager to take it on. As of now, I am only one week into this project and I already find myself seeing things creatively in my everyday life. Even the cup of pens sitting beside me as I type…I find myself wondering how I could make them into art. Here are my favorite photos from the past several days. Naturally, I shoot more than 1 photo a day, so if you are interested in viewing my complete “Project 365” collection, head over to my Flickr Page and browse the set.

Project 365-Days 1 and 2

365.button.2
As promised, I am linking up my Project 365 Images today! I started this project on Thursday, August 26, 2010 and I will finish it on August 25, 2011. I am super excited to see where this journey takes me. I am seeing things in a whole different perspective…forcing myself to think outside of the box and view the world for what it is. So here are my first days of shots. You can look forward to these every Saturday for the next 52 weeks. :)

Day One:

365-1-2

Day Two:

365-Day 2 039
This photo was instantly my favorite when I started reviewing my shots from Friday. I took this over at the pond near my parents house. I have seen photos where people were able to capture reflections perfectly, and never understood how they managed it. But I got it today. Never have I ever seen the water so smooth and so calm.It was like glass. It had just rained and the rain undoubtedly stirred the water to the point of murkiness.  And the murkiness added to the hazy effect that was already in the air. It was so beautiful. This is probably one of my favorite shots I have ever captured.

I [naturally] took more than one shot each day, so you can head over to my Flickr and check out the rest of the Day 1 and Day 2 shots. And don’t forget to head over to some of the other blogs that are participating in this project and offer some encouragement! 2 days down…363 to go.

Project 365 {Day 1}

>> Thursday, August 26, 2010

Ok…so I think I’m finally going to cave. I’ve been toying with the idea and mulling it over in my head..but this article this morning pushed me toward saying “yes.” A lot of people have taken on the 365 Day Photo Challenge. And so far, I’ve been hesitant to do the same. I’m good with projects, but a lot of times I get sidetracked and forget to do them. Like my “A-Z” challenge I started? I successfully made it to letter “E” before I stopped. But this project seems to be a wee bit different. The idea behind it is to really push yourself to shoot something creative, rather than to just snap a photo and be done.

I want to be BETTER than I am now.

I want my photos to stand out. I want them to improve with every single shot. And I want to look back next year and SEE the progress I have made in both my composition and my editing skills. So I’m going to agree to pledge myself over to the project. Maybe even make a coffee table book out of it when I successfully complete it. I would love some company in this journey. I know that 365 days is a loooong time. Especially from a photographic perspective. But I don’t intend to post a photo on this blog every day. You would tired of looking at just one picture, and I would get sick of posting them every day. So you can look for the posts on Sundays. Every Sunday I will link you guys up with my 7 favorite shots of the week.

Which means that NO I won’t be leaving you with a new picture today.  :) You’re just going to have to come back on Sunday to see for yourself what I come up with.

If you’re interested in joining in with us, head over to Madeline Bea. She’s looking for members and it’s always fun to have others around to encourage you.
